Maxine Z. Magri, CPA

Managing Member

Maxine Magri is a Certified Public Accountant with extensive experience helping businesses and individuals with strategic tax planning that protects their financial future. She is a problem solver and proactive partner to her clients, understanding what they need and acting on their behalf with the IRS and other regulatory bodies. She’s built a strong reputation for working with precision to efficiently prepare taxes and consult with LLCs, corporations, partnerships, trusts and estates. Since 1987, Maxine has advised startups and small businesses, playing a critical role in promoting growth in the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County communities. Maxine earned a B.S. from Eastern Mennonite University and extended her education with graduate courses in Business Management at James Madison University. Maxine is also co-owner of Kate’s Natural Products, a local natural products store. Her interests outside of work includes,  traveling, the outdoors, exercising and reading.

Steven Zheng

Tax Assocciate

Steven Zheng is a detailed and thorough Tax Specialist who has worked for                       Maxine Z Magri CPA since January 2020. Steven's strong analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of taxation complexities help him manage our clients' needs while proactively protecting their finances. Steven speaks fluent Mandarin and enjoys working in accounting because he has seen his work improve his clients' lives and businesses. He is a seasoned accountant who provides a comprehensive, worry-free experience that our clients can trust by streamlining their financial accounting, tax returns and bookkeeping. Steven is a CPA candidate who also handles the firm’s IT needs. He earned a B.S. in Accounting from Eastern Mennonite University after receiving a degree in Social Work from Harbin University of Commerce in China. Steven enjoys reading in his free time.

Gregory Bray

Tax Assocciate

Gregory Bray has been a vital member of the team at Maxine Z. Magri since 2018. He has played a critical role in helping the firm grow and thrive by anticipating the needs of our clients and guiding them through the accounting process. Before working for the firm,  Greg and his wife owned a Cinnamon Bear bakery and deli for 6 years. As a small business owner, he gained first-hand knowledge of the intricacies and challenges of running a business and the critical role accounting plays in protecting profits and minimizing loss. That experience has translated well to his work as an accountant, helping business owners navigate the complexities of financial regulation and management. Greg provides a full range of services, with a focus on the intricacies of payroll compliance, financial reconciliation, and tax return compilation. He attended George Mason University for Electrical Engineering and Blue Ridge Community College for Accounting. Greg enjoys playing golf with his young son and working on artistic projects in his free time.

Cheyenne Anderson

Administrative Assistant

Cheyenne Anderson is our dedicated Administrative Assistant, helping our staff schedule appointments,and assist clients. . She has been with Maxine Z. Magri CPA PLC since 2019 and is the friendly voice you hear over the phone when you call. She loves interacting with clients, scheduling appointments, answering questions and learning more about them and their business. With a diverse work and educational background, she can connect with our clients in a meaningful way, putting them at ease throughout their partnership with the firm. Her inviting demeanor helps clients feel comfortable asking questions and learning more about the accounting process. When she’s not busy working, Cheyenne enjoys cooking delicious meals in her home kitchen and hiking with her boyfriend and dog.
